March at Jabu

Dear Friends of Jabulani,
Greetings from Harare Zimbabwe! We have been exceptionally busy with the new school year starting. Having 11 children at school means lots of work with uniforms, shoes, track suits, sports kits, sports shoes, school textbooks and work books etc.  It’s difficult enough with 1 child but 11 means lots of running around and most of the stuff needs to be brought in from South Africa... but to see our precious children leaving home for school each day makes it all worthwhile!

The children are doing well, Grace is now in her last year at Maranatha Primary school and has big exams in October. Please pray she will do well.

Blessing, Hope, Daniel and Joseph are all in Grade 6 and need to get busy with studies... enough said!

Esther, Sarah, and Abigail are doing very well in Grade 3 Blue while Faith Hannah and Ruth are catching up in Grade 3 Green...

All the children are happy and enjoying their teachers and have no problems rising at 5am and catching the school bus at 6:30... They all come home together now at 4pm and then with dinner and homework everyone is ready for an early bed!
Please pray they will fulfil their potential and enjoy every day of this great opportunity God has given them.

We attended a school cross country day last week and all the children did well.. In Grade 3 we took the first 5 places and the bigger children all were in the top 5. Most of our kids have been chosen for the athletics teams in high jump, long jump and hurdles.
It’s a joy for us to see them excel and really enjoy the sports at school.

Kuda and Joshua continue to have good health and appetites. They love the summer days outside in their special chairs and all the children enjoy pushing them around the Jabulani grounds in the evenings and weekends.

Faith, Hannah and Ruth have joined the Brownies and are loving it, they are so cute. They are baking cakes and singing songs, it really is precious!

We had a great Christmas, Santa came and blessed everyone with gifts and clothes and all the children had a fantastic time, we praise God for His goodness and love and for many friends who helped make this Christmas so special for all the children.

Zimbabwe as a country, is much the same. No electricity but still yesterday they raised the tariff by 19% per unit!
Food is available but at serious prices, fuel queues still miles long and people waiting for hours in anticipation of withdrawing the equivalent of US$4 /day from the bank. It really is a trial for the vast majority of people here.
They are so resilient and always ready to make a plan to try and survive day by day. Please pray for our nation. Praise God for our solar energy at JABULANI. We are off grid and producing enough to keep us working well every day, it’s amazing to see at night- all around is in darkness and we are shining bright!
Again we thank those dear friends who made this possible, it literally has given us a life!

We were all devastated at the loss of our precious little dog Disney, she was a real favourite of everyone who has visited us over the years and our children are missing her very much. She had an accident on our property and we can’t believe she is gone.

Dorothy and I continue serving God here in this great country, there are still many who need to hear the Gospel. We are actually teaching children of students that we taught in school years ago and it is wonderful to meet up with the parents and hear how God has blessed them over the years. Hallelujah!

We are now serving the Lord in Africa for 20 years and rejoice in all He has done and has enabled us to do, it has been and continues to be a tremendous privilege to serve the poor and needy both spiritually and materially.
We continue to feed and clothe the poor and are working with different groups around our city as well as preaching Gods Word!

Please pray for health and strength to continue the work. Dorothy is still astounding us by running and winning marathons every month. Her stamina and energy is awesome with no sign of letting up! May God help us to keep running the race He has set before us in Jesus Name!

Many thanks to everyone who reads this, who prays for us and our children, who support us financially, we couldn’t do it without you! Please be assured of our prayers for you every day.

We thank God for our staff at Jabulani who do a superb job  with the children,  their  love and devotion to the work we are trying to accomplish here makes things much easier for Dorothy and I, please keep them in your prayers.
